Privacy Policy

We at Clínica Veterinária Solidária SOS Animal (CVS) are determined to protect and respect your privacy. This privacy policy sets out which personal data we process among the data we collect, or that you provide to us. Please use this document as a guide to our practices regarding your personal data.

The personal data you provide to us will be stored in the OrangestVet software database developed by the company Magnisoft and saved directly on the local server located in our veterinary medical care center.

Your personal data will be used in accordance with the implicit contract signed between you and our NGO so that we can provide you with medical-veterinary services, as well as other services in the area of health, aesthetics or animal behavior. Whenever data is used for purposes other than those legally required to provide our services, we will ask for your express consent for this use.

This use of your data falls within the principle set out in section 3, article 6 of the General Data Protection Regulation.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT AND WHY?

When you create a file for your animal at our reception or through a telephone call, we will ask for your Name, Telephone Contact, Address and Tax Identification Number and, if applicable, payment details. This data is collected for the following purposes:

  • Register your details as a new customer and update them with each visit, or whenever necessary;
  • Register your animals in our system;
  • Make appointments for appointments or other services;
  • Process your payments, invoice and bill for our services;
  • Contact you to provide information about your animals, exams or appointments;
  • Communicate changes to the terms of our services;
  • We will also automatically collect dates of your visits to our clinic;
  • Registration of members, volunteers and animal adoption processes.

We will ask for your express consent to use your personal data for other purposes, namely:

To be sent reminders regarding health events, such as vaccinations and dewormings, that are part of my pets' preventive health plan. If you are already our customer on the date this privacy policy comes into force, we will continue to send you these reminders, as we have done until now, collecting your express consent at the time of your next visit to HVS;

To send you information about animal health, HVS/SOS Animal campaigns or events.

If necessary and within the strict scope of the services contracted and provided by HVS, your personal data may be sent to external suppliers, namely: clinical analyses, funeral services, etc.

We may, for certain purposes, subcontract data processing services such as sending SMS, managing social networks or digital communication. The right to use your personal data will not be provided to any subcontracted company for these purposes, with the provision of services in question always defined by a contract signed between HVS and its supplier, so that the criteria defined in the General Data Protection Regulation.

HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

Regular backups are made to a Network Attached Storage (NAS). Our computer systems are regularly updated so that they always operate on the most stable and secure versions of the operating system available. We have an active firewall in our computer systems and we have an active antivirus, to ensure that, if there is a security breach in that system, we can detect it as quickly as possible.

We also strive to keep your data as up to date as possible, and as such we will ask you to confirm your details with each visit you make to our HVS. Likewise, we ask you to inform us if any relevant changes occur in the same data during this period.

HOW LONG DO WE STORE YOUR DATA

Your personal data will be stored for 10 years after your last visit to our Clinic. At any time you can request that your data be deleted, and we will do so in a secure and confidential manner, as long as there is no legal reason for us to keep it.

RIGHTS

You have the right to access at any time all the personal data you have provided to us, as well as all records generated based on that data. If you wish to access this data and request its portability, you must send us a written request to sosanimal@sosanimal.com. We will respond to this request within 30 days.

You have the right to withdraw any consent to the use of your personal data and to request that your personal data be deleted from our database. To do this, simply send an email to sosanimal@sosanimal.com describing the purposes for which you wish to stop being contacted, or requesting the deletion of your data (if it is a request for data deletion, we have a period of 30 days to respond to that request, and we will proceed with the deletion as long as this does not conflict with any legal reason we have to process this data).

CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY POLICY

Any future changes to this privacy policy will be communicated on the website www.sosanimal.com and if any relevant changes are made, they will be communicated by email.

The information contained on this website is not confidential and does not establish a doctor-veterinarian-client or lawyer-client relationship with SOS Animal – Portugal or any of its members, employees or volunteers. The website does not constitute a proposal to represent the user and the user must not act or refrain from acting based on any information contained on this website.

The rescues and provision of medical and veterinary care that were carried out during the filming of the SOS Animal program were carried out by professionals qualified for this purpose.
Do not attempt to reproduce them in any way. It should be noted that any and all medical-surgical interventions can only be carried out by a veterinarian in possession of their professional certificate and not by individuals, so whenever it is necessary to provide medical-veterinary care to your pet, or to any stray animal
rescued, you must use professional technicians duly qualified for this purpose.

No animal was harmed, harmed or exploited in any way during the filming of the SOS Animal program, which was limited to reproducing its rescue and subsequent provision of medical and veterinary care or to raising awareness among viewers about respect, protection and animal welfare.
